PATH(Promoting the Advancement of Teens in Healthcare) provides opportunities for students considering a healthcare related career.
Volunteering is a PRIVILEGE. The number of openings for
PATH is limited; only 65 students will be accepted, including teens who return from the previous summer.
Volunteer Requirements
All teens must:
- Be at least 14 years of age by June 1 and entering the ninth grade.
- Commit to volunteering two half days or one full day each week; the schedule will be set and will remain throughout the program.
- Commit to volunteering seven weeks of the eight week program.
Due to the overwhelming response of students in our community, it is essential that you pay close attention to the information on this website and the DEADLINES stated. Please apply to the program only if you are able to meet our requirements.

Teen Opportunities:
We strive to give students experience in their area of interest, such as visiting patients on nursing unit or observing techs. Teens also answer phones, escort visitors, discharge patients, deliver supplies, provide office support, or play with children in the hospital’s daycare center.
Comments from students:
“Everyone really appreciates the PATH Volunteers. I felt like I was a part of HPRHS. Everyone was respectful and I was proud to be here.”
“Through this program, I have learned a lot about the many careers in the medical field. This has helped me decide which career I want to pursue in the future.”
