Prostate & GU Cancer Clinic
Our Prostate and Genitourinary Oncology Clinic provides an opportunity for newly diagnosed prostate and other genitourinary cancer patients to fully understand their disease and treatment options so that they can make informed healthcare decisions. The Clinic also serves as a resource for men with complicated prostate cancers and for those who have completed initial treatment to discuss additional treatment options, including the benefits of clinical trials.
The Prostate and Genitourinary Oncology Program provides comprehensive care for patients with urologic cancers of both the male and female urinary systems (prostate, testicles and penis, kidneys, ureters and bladder).
The staff of the Prostate and Genitourinary Oncology Program is dedicated to providing the clinic brings together healthcare providers from Urologic Surgery, Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology. The program’s specialized team also includes nurses, physician assistants, technicians, social workers, pharmacists, clinical trial coordinators, patient navigators and administrative assistants who support the patient-physician relationship. We provide state-of-the-art care in a professional, compassionate and patient-friendly atmosphere.
The Prostate and Genitourinary Oncology Program holds weekly conferences to discuss cases where many different specialists' feedback can be obtained and an individualized, united medical and/or surgical plan of care is developed for each patient. A diagnostic radiologist and pathologist participate in the clinic’s discussion phase and are available if the patient or his family feels that speaking with these providers will help make a decision or alleviate anxiety about an image or diagnosis.
