The ACR gold seal of accreditation signifies the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
Quality Oncology Practice Initiative
Emerywood Hematology and Oncology, the medical oncology practice located at The Hayworth Cancer Center, recently completed their Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) participation. The QOPI® participation is the first step toward achieving QOPI® certification.
The QOPI® program, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), is an oncologist-led, practice-based quality improvement program. QOPI®’s goal is to promote excellence in cancer care by helping practices create a culture of self-examination and improvement. The process employed for improving cancer care includes measurement, feedback and improvement tools for hematology-oncology practices.
This is an elite achievement, with few oncology practices nationwide having received this certification. Congratulations to Emerywood’s dedicated oncologists who have taken and well surpassed this crucial first step to further promote the highest quality cancer care as defined by the clinician experts.
