Prostate Cancer Events to Highlight Keys to Survivorship

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month and the Cancer Center at High Point Regional Health System is coordinating several events intended to spread the important message to men that early detection is the key to survivorship.

Awareness events include:

Tuesday, September 21 at 5:30 p.m., Liberty Steakhouse and Brewery will generously host a “Pints for Prostates” fundraiser event to benefit the “Us Too” Prostate Cancer Support Group of the Cancer Center at High Point Regional. The event is the first of its kind in the Triad and takes place in the bar area of the restaurant. In addition, Liberty is also donating a percentage of sales for every pint of its award winning “Miss Liberty Lager” during the entire month of September.

Wednesday, September 22 at 7 p.m., Drs. Bart Frizzell, Craig Hall and Vallathucherry Harish will present an educational seminar, “Prostate Cancer: Know Your Options.” Participants will learn more about the importance of being fully aware of treatment options and the resources available through the center’s Prostate and GU Clinic. Call the Contact Center at (336) 878-6888 to register.

Thursday, September 23, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., the first-ever support group meeting for men with prostate cancer will meet in the Cancer Resource Center. Call the Contact Center at (336) 878-6888 to register.
