High Point Regional Hospital Rededication and Ice Cream Social
The High Point community is invited to attend a family-style celebration to commemorate the hospital’s 100th anniversary from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 13th.
The brief rededication ceremony at 1:30 will include Mayor Becky Smothers and people representative of the hospital’s history.
In the style of a 1904 ice cream social (the cone was invented that year too), there will be games, music and free ice cream cones and lemonade for everyone. There will be a flag raising, and a time capsule will be presented for future placement on the hospital grounds.
A 10-minute video of the hospital’s history will be repeatedly shown inside the Millis Regional Health Education Center, and the celebration will occur in the Millis parking lot. The section of Elm Street between the hospital and the Millis Center will be closed during the celebration.
